🍟 Who really invented the Happy Meal?

Episode 1 of The Best Idea Yet

Last week we launched our second podcast: The Best Idea Yet. The untold origin stories of the products you’re obsessed with.

Today, episode 1 drops: The Happy Meal: A Delicious McMystery.

Because who actually invented McDonald’s Happy Meal?

Yolanda, creator of the Happy Meal

That’s right. In 1974, Yolanda Fernández de Cofiño owned and ran the 1st McD’s franchise in Guatemala with her husband. This mother of 5 studied the dining room and created what became the Happy Meal we all know, love, and devour today.

Exceptttt… one guy disagrees. He’s a Midwestern ad salesman who claims he came up with the whole idea.

But wait…. there's actually another guy who claims the Happy Meal was their idea.

That wild untold story is Episode #1 of our new show, The Best Idea Yet:

Episode 1 of our new podcast is available now, free to listen to wherever you get your pods. So subscribe / follow right now!

And here’s a taste of what else we’re serving up in Ep 1…

  • McD’s “Hamburger University” (real place) that’s harder to get into than Harvard.

  • The “Window of Loyalty” strategy that captures customers for life.

  • Why the Happy Meal launch flopped out of the gate, but got saved by Spock…

So listen to The Best Idea Yet for the untold story of the most viral meal in history: The Happy Meal.

We’re so pumped to share this new show with you. This 1st episode truly is the best idea yet. 🙌 🙌
